Phoenix Rising

Happy Summer everyone! I hope 2012 has had a positive beginning for you! I have been busy with life's tasks and again, I apologize for the  time that has gone by since my last entry.
The Phoenix is a mythical bird of great beauty with gold and crimson feathers. The legend has been told in many cultures. After a long life, the Phoenix dies in a fire of it's own making only to rise again from the ashes. If you've seen Harry Potter, you know this is Dumbledore's sacred animal that he holds in his office. :) Death and Rebirth resonate with humankind's aspirations.
For the last 6 months, I had decided to be vulnerable and open to anything. I let my guards down. The beginning was scary and because I was so used to protecting myself, it was unsettling at times. After I got the hang of this, I felt free and powerful. I embraced the change that was happening. I was reminded everyday that I can not control everything. I felt like I was flying.  Then, I got struck by life's lovely little lessons. Grief. Loss. Surprise attack indeed. I burst into flames. I was aware of my reaction and tried to go back to controlling things again, but I had no control over the emotions that burned inside. So, I lived. I felt everything and I let go. I am Still letting go. Life is what we make it, but sometimes things do happen that are for a reason. Why does everyone say that? Because it's true. There's a bigger picture. A bigger plan. So what's the next step you ask??
RISE! Rise from the ashes and start anew. Keep yourself open, vulnerable, and free!
